The IE Hounds basketball team in San Bernardino
was founded not just as a sports organization, but as a movement. Born from a passion for the game and a deep love for dogs, our team represents more than just wins and losses — we represent heart, healing, and hope.
IE Hounds is part of the American Basketball Association (ABA), and we proudly bring high-level basketball to the Inland Empire while staying rooted in the things that matter most: community, family, and purpose. Our journey started with a conversation about grief — two of our founding partners at EQ Athletics had recently lost their beloved dogs and were still feeling the emotional weight. That shared experience led to something powerful: a vision to build a team that honors the bond between people and pets while using basketball as a platform for impact.
What sets us apart from other teams is our mission. We combine basketball, dogs, mental toughness, sickle cell trait awareness, and ministry into one powerful outreach. From game nights to pet adoption events, youth mentorship to sickle cell education, the IE Hounds are doing things differently. Our home games aren’t just sports — they’re full community experiences.
